Does everyone remember the awesome 2010 Pork Report that we put out earlier this year? In case you missed it, the Pork Report is our annual publication at the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii that details all of the wasteful government spending in one convenient booklet. In it, we found out gross overspending violations of the State Government, and put forth our recommendations on how to better save the State some money in this economic time.

It’s that time of year again where all of us here at the Grassroot Institute have started to dig in and research for government waste all across the state. While we have some excellent people on staff here to help us out year after year, none of the report would be possible without your help. How is it that you can help you ask? Keep your eye out for anything that catches your eye! Is there some kind of construction project that’s been on your street for the last year or so? Are there any buildings or structures that look half done around your neighborhood? Do you personally know of any weird spending habits of our government? If so, please, please, please let us know! We’re always on the lookout for more entries to put into our Pork Report, and the more you readers help us out, the more we can get the word out about what your taxpayer dollars are going towards.

If you have any sort of questions that you feel need to be raised, or have a pork report tip for us, email us at YOU might be the next person to uncover a crazy amount for a subcontractor, or a tax-dollar blackhole in the form of a delayed project. Keep your eyes peeled citizens!
